Over the next couple of weeks we will be reviewing the components to successful writing.  We are focusing on developing ideas, presenting those ideas in an organzied way, using correct grammar mechanics.

We will use several different articles to read then creating a written response.

Reading:

Unit 8: Determining Importance

During this unit, students will continue to make inferences to understand text.  They also think about important ideas and supporting details in text and use important ideas to build summaries.    

 

Objectives:

* Work with a partner

* Explore non fiction text

* think about important ideas and supporting details in a narrative nonfiction text.

* Read independently for 20 minutes.
